Well, this post doesn’t have a title because i am not really sure what exactly the content is about .Something happened to me just randomly today and for reasons unclear to me,I found it hilarious and interesting enough to have a mention ..
I was on an errand, driving my bike to Laxmi road.I was on this bridge in front of Mangala talkies, weaving my way through the all too familiar swarm of vehicles, when a tempo loaded with two Godrej cupboards overtook me and started driving at a distance of one foot in front of my nose.(okay,1 foot is really exaggeration as the circumference of the front wheel of my bike itself must be greater than this distnace..but you get the idea, dont you..)
Initially I was a little annoyed at the way the tempo had almost shoved past me..but it was funny really..there I was,in the middile of the jam-packed bridge, staring at my own self,in the mirror of the Godrej cupboard fastened at the back of that vehicle.
There wasn’t even the need for the rearview mirrors on my bike.i was getting a full fledged view of the traffic at my back ,courtesy ,Godrej mirror.
Since we were all moving at a snail’s pace,I was able to take my time to appreciate my image in the mirror. For the first time,I realized just how feeble my frame and how oversized my helmet appears(Mind you,APPEARS ) to be..I wondered if I would ever have become aware of this ,had it not been for this incident…
A little while after squinting at myself,I remembered a tip from a biker friend of mine about maintaining the ideal posture on a bike. This, along with the sight of my reflection, brought home the realization that I was sitting in an ergonomically wrong posture..I was keeping my hands too straight….
i thanked the Forces for bringing me to that exact location on that particular time of that particular day when the enlightening tempo would just be in the right position to reveal these facts for me and would prompt me to take the corrective action…
I was so busy staring at myself, that I had lost opportunities to zip past the tempo. So we came to a square with me at the heels of it and apparently, it was going to a take a turn.By this time,I was finding the whole thing very funny .Besides, I had always wanted to see myself driving. But come on,I cant ask anyone to just video shoot me so that I would later be able to watch it and take a stock of my driving skills. Its too embarrassing..But now,I could actually see the biker that was me!!So I decided to follow the tempo..Basically,I just wanted to click a picture of my image through my cell camera but for this to be possible, it was essential that the tempo stops at a signal(I did stupidly try to take a snap while driving but maneuvering the cell phone buttons while keeping the balance in the dense traffic was too much for my not-so- co-ordinated brain and the wiser parts of it had given off enough warning signals) .So I continued following it,ignoring the honking behind me.A quadruple of turns later,by which time I had completely lost my orientation, the tempo came to a halt in front of a shop.
I was in a hurry in order not to waste the opportunity. So I pulled out the cell from the pocket and started clicking snaps of my mirror image.

But this intrigued the shopowner, who came out hastily from his shop and,in a very concerned voice, asked me if something was wrong with the tempo….he thought that I was clicking at the number plate!!!!
My impulse was to laugh. But his face was really serious and I started contemplating just how to explain the reasons for my photography to him.He asked me if the driver had misbehaved or something..i assured him that this wasn’t at all the case but in the absence of a convincing explanation, his expression remained puzzled.I didn’t want the uncle to worry more over the issue. So I took it as my cue to leave this weird looking(for passers-by) business and got on with finding my way back to Laxmi road…
